Who took part?
- Men from across the socioeconomic spectrum
- Their mean BMI at baseline was 35.5 kg/m2
- Over 90% were classed as obese
- They were 10 times more likely to be classed as being at extremely high risk of future health problems compared to other men their age in the general Scottish population.

|Men who took part in FFIT (the “Intervention group”)…
Reduced their blood pressure(BP) by significantly more than the men in the “Comparison group”: systolic BP was 7.9mmHg and diastolic 6.6 mmHg lower at 12mths.
Reduced their body fat. At 12mths they were carrying 2.2% less fat then when they started FFIT. The “Comparison group” showed no reduction over this time period.
